The food is delicious. Their introductor breads set the high bar for what is to come. The atmosphere is quiet with rustic beauty surrounding the dining room. The big fireplace adds to the ambiance. I have been there many times but this time we were a party of four celebrating a birthday so it gave me an opportunity to see if others shared my very high opinion of the food. We each had She Crab Soup which is always perfect. I also had the she crab dip which was excellent. We had a variety of crab, scallops, shrimp, muscles in different dishes and everyone agreed each was excellent. Very strongly recommend Crab Louie's for a restaurant that will always meet and surpass your expectations!read more
My wife and I have been going to Crab Louie's Seafood Tavern since before we were married. This October 28th will be 17 years married and 25 years together. Nothing but the best service and quality of food! You might want to get a reservation though! That's just a testament to the quality they make sure you are given.read more
Our family had dinner at Crab Louie's this week and we have not been here for over 20 yrs. The food was very good, the breads and small relish dishes were wonderful. The prices are very high for what you get. The service was excellent. The place is just lacking energy and just feels tired, and could use a re-grand opening or something. There were only 7-8 tables all evening, not sure how they do it.read more
I had the Norfolk seafood broil. It was delicious. My daughter had the scallop and shrimp which she enjoyed throughly. They offer a sample of breads and all were tasty. This was not my first time here but they never fail to deliver. I would recommend this place.read more
We had 16 or 18 people on the night that we went to Crab Louie's Seafood Tavern and Kara took great care of us! The four cornbread appetizer breads were fantastic, our drinks came quickly and were always full, and our entrees were amazing. Everyone got a lot of food and we all went home happy! I had the broiled Seafood combo which was fantastic. I hope to go here again because it was so good and there were so many things I wanted to try.read more
Incredible quality to the food in both taste and appearance. Very pricey–all menu options tended to be $30 and up. Not very large portions served, either. Very dim lighting and could use something to liven it up a bit. Neat history behind the building, which originally dates back to the 18th century. Overall a very exquisite place to dine at.read more
Excellent experience every time we come.
Compimentary sweet cornbread is bursting with flavor.
Today I tried something new and got the Dijon grilled chicken breast w. Baked potato.
Food was fresh and hot. Taste was great.
Our server was top notch and completely took care of us from the time we sat down until we left.
Highly recommended!read more
The food and the service make Crab Louie a 5 Star Restaurant. The Oysters Rockefeller is not an appetizer it’s an experience. Coming from Maryland my expectations were low. But Louie’s is proof that you can find great seafood elsewhere. Great place! We will be back!read more
Yes, this is an older restaurant. The menu doesn’t change weekly with the latest in gastronomy fads, and there’s no electronic light show with dinner. But if you like sizable portions of good food then you’re in luck. Every server I’ve come in contact with has been personable and knowable about the menu, the food’s very good, and again, portions are notable.read more
Absolutely delicious. Our waitress was attentive and professional. She explained some items on the menu. The drinks were strong. We had she crab soup and stuffed mushrooms, both were delicious. The entrees were perfect. The temperature, the seasoning, the flavor, the portions....fresh seafood and all wonderful. I can't wait to go back and try new items on the menu!read more
